I wanted some new dresses for summer. This would be fine except we're cracking down on our budget, and I don't really need new dresses. Sterling and I just completed Financial Peace University a finance class on how to rid of debt and save by Dave Ramsey. We're lowering our debt and saving for Desirae's big day this fall.
We've been really good about staying on track. We've only been buying "need" things, and we're being very selective of our "wants". I could just ignore the fact that I want a new outfit, but while looking for a bridesmaids dress the wanting just intensifies.
My solution was to go thrifting hoping to find something cute and not spend much. I found this dress, and while I liked the print, it definitely wasn't cute. The price tag was tempting though- $2.50 Luckily I have some crude sewing skills from high school and sewing machine to help me out.
After much indecisiveness on what to do with it I came up with this:
I think it will be perfect for summer, and since we've been getting a heat wave around here I could use it! I have another one too, but that might have to wait for another day.
happy weekend!
