Happy 2 years!

Sorry no pics this time...just updates:

*Sterling and I have now been married for 2 years! It's flown by so fast! (some of that may have been me being gone for 8 months of school...oops)

*In case you're behind the times we're moving back to MN this November

*Yet another one of my favorite magazines (Gourmet) is getting cut from production (former faves were blueprint and domino)

*i've been turned onto google reader to get all my blog feeds and while i find it slightly overwhelming (i probably follow 75 or so) it is very rewarding to watch the new posts count down as you read them...at least i feel like i'm accomplishing something

*one week till we get to relax in Mexico!!!

i think that's all for now...i'm sure we'll be posting pics soon

September is here

I'm pretty sure I say this every post, but this month flew by yet again. I'm finishing up school with my externship at Extreme Chocolates with Chef Carrie Wong in Salem. We're trying to make summer last as long as possible which isn't too difficult with the 90° weather this past week. A while back Sterling made paper wrapped chicken and corn with cilantro butter from his Barbecue Bible book.

He's also been very busy working on a 40' pond/waterfall in Millersburg.
Here are the finishing pictures.

Also DesiraƩ has been trying to earn some extra money on Etsy if anyone is interested.

Well that's about all for now. We'll be in MN this next weekend for our cousin's wonderful wedding! We can't wait to see everyone we can during our short stay. Lots of love from us to you!

summer fun

Darlene and Desirae picked blackberries today and made blackberry jam...YUM!!!
Tomorrow is my last day at work so I collaborated with them and made cupcakes.
Darlene canning

the jam jars

yellow cake with blackberry jam filling and blackberry swiss buttercream
topped with a gumpaste flower, blackberry, edible glitter, and pearl
hopefully they will be enjoyed

my darling husband continues to work hard on his amazing pond. there will be pictures to come... it is well worth the wait.

I'm fully moved back home...and while I've worked all weekend I couldn't be happier! I love summer (even though it feels like fall here)

Race to the end!

We've been busy beavers as usual. Sterling's been working on a 40 foot pond project and I'm trying to finish school. Its my last week of classes...today was my last real class. I'm kind of sad about it, but really excited about my externship at Extreme Chocolates and moving back home! Tomorrow is our class potluck so I'm off to H mart so I can bring some chop chae and candy to class...must remember the candy ;)

Sterling's work in progress (we'll post final project later)

This last course was Advanced techniques which was candy, gingerbread, and sugar work.
peanut divinity

Fudge, chocolate dipped caramel, toffee, peanut brittle
